Last week, following a meeting in Riga, the Supervisory Board of RB Rail AS, the Board Members and a visiting representative of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport, as well as the management of the project implementer in Latvia SIA Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnija went to inspect the ongoing construction works at Riga Central Station in person.
With the old embankment and several tracks already partly removed and hundreds of kilometres of old utilities cables and ducts replaced, a lot of the foundational work has been laid allowing for the start of construction also of the first Rail Baltica railway viaduct over Lāčplēša Str., which was launched on 2 September.
