Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting the Riga Business School community, offering them a unique opportunity to tour the Riga Central Station construction site and learn about the progress of the Rail Baltica project from Rail Baltica delivery organizations’ representatives – Ģirts Rūda and Arnis Kākulis, Members of the Supervisory Board at RB Rail AS, Ojārs Daugavietis, Head of Global Project Finance at RB Rail AS, and Anita Rudule-Jansone, Project Manager at Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas.
The visit included a thorough on-site excursion showcasing the construction progress and provided insights into the complexity, stakeholder network, and financial challenges of the project. We also discussed the profound societal, economic and security advancements Rail Baltica will bring to the region.
Ojārs Daugavietis shared, “It was a pleasure to meet my classmates, share knowledge with my professors, and see the future – our graduates.”
“It is crucial to engage with stakeholders and future users to communicate the unique and complex nature of the project while exploring ways to involve end-users in its development. After all, Rail Baltica is the project of the century for everyone,” said Ģirts Rūda.
Agnese Strazda, Director of Programs, Marketing & Communication, added, “As a leading business educator in the region, it is our duty to connect our alumni, students, faculty, and partners with key strategic initiatives. An informed society is crucial for making smarter and more sustainable business decisions, which is essential for Latvia’s growth. Following their visit, two of our undergraduate students emphasized the importance of obtaining information directly from the source to avoid bias. This is the value we deliver to our community. Thank you, Rail Baltica, for providing such valuable insights.”
