On October 10, 2018, Ignas Degutis, RB Rail AS acting CEO hosted a meeting with ambassadors and diplomats from the countries representing the European Economic Area, with an aim to share updates about developments in the Rail Baltica Global Project.
During the meeting Degutis informed the quests about the latest developments in the project after the change of leadership of the RB Rail AS and briefed on the Rail Baltica current state, procurement plans, military mobility aspect, cooperation with the global supplier community as well as progress on the Global Project financing.
“There is a potential to accelerate the project implementation. RB Rail continues to work in full capacity and is focused on progressing with the detailed technical design for all sections of the railway as well as finalising the long-term business, operational and infrastructure management plans of Rail Baltica which will determine the future success of the project”, says Ignas Degutis. ”In addition, we are continuously working towards the long-term financing of the Rail Baltica Global Project and a sustainable funding for the joint venture’s budget in 2019-2020”.
With the European Union being the principal donor of the Rail Baltica project, the aim of RB Rail AS is to keep the member states informed about all significant developments of the project. Among the participants were ambassadors and diplomats from 17 countries.
