Rail Baltica project implementer in Latvia SIA “EIROPAS DZELZCEĻA LĪNIJAS” has signed agreement with the association of Forma2 and Prointec on engineering and construction supervision for Rail Baltica station at Riga International Airport and its related infrastructure. Supervision of engineering works will have to be ensured during the construction of the station building, access roads, overpass, and new railway line, and also for the warranty time.
“By signing this agreement with the project construction supervisor, the construction of the second most important Rail Baltica station and infrastructure in Latvia can begin at full speed. Given the complexity of this project, it is especially important to monitor the quality of construction works following all safety, operational and environmental accessibility requirements. The construction supervisor must monitor that all the important conditions of work organization are thoroughly followed, maintaining easy access to the airport, minimal impact on traffic, and respecting the progress of adjacent projects during the construction. At the beginning of March this year, we have already signed an agreement with the builder of this project – the association of persons B.S.L. Infra, consisting of the Austrian company Swietelsky AG and the Latvian construction companies – road construction company SIA Binders and AS LNK Industries. We plan to start active construction work in May, and it is planned to perform them in five sequential stages – until December 2025,” emphasizes Kaspars Vingris, Chairman of the Board of the European Railway Line.
Duration of the contract is 10 years from the conclusion of the contract, including the provision of services during a five-year warranty period. The project is implemented in five rounds, and payment for the work performed will be made following the established rounds of work implementation. The total amount of the contract will be 5,849,799.72 euros without VAT.
