On 19 April, we hosted EMBA alumni from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, bringing together executives representing various Baltic and international companies, to explore the Rail Baltica project.
Kristīne Malnača, Head of the Global Project Strategy and Economics Department at RB Rail AS, delivered an in-depth overview of the project, covering its significance as a crucial transport, military, and economic corridor. She elaborated on the diverse range of railway services to be provided by Rail Baltica and highlighted the substantial economic, environmental, and geostrategic benefits it brings to the region. Kristīne also discussed the potential for air-to-rail connection, opportunities for regional and urban development, and the broad network of Rail Baltica international partners.
Einārs Jaunzems, Director of the Project Implementation and Management Department at Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas, the national implementing body in Latvia, provided valuable insights into the project’s scope and progress in Latvia.
Our guests had the opportunity to witness firsthand the construction progress at one of the Rail Baltica construction sites, the Rail Baltica Riga central station site.
