Job summary
The RAMS Manager ensures the implementation of Rail Baltica’s RAMS Design Guidelines and processes, overseeing the full RAMS lifecycle for all railway systems. This includes supervising all RAMS activities and deliverables from stakeholders involved in the project—from concept through commissioning.
The RAMS Manager is also responsible for producing system-level RAMS documentation in compliance with relevant EU directives and standards (e.g. EU Directive 402/2013 (CSM-RA), CENELEC 5012x) to support the achievement of mandatory certifications and approvals by entities such as the Assessment Body (AsBo), the European Railway Agency (ERA), and the National Safety Authorities (NSA) of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
Your responsibilities

Manage the RAMS Team, including resource planning, workload management, and budgeting.

Lead, coach, support, and develop RAM and Safety Engineers.

Ensure implementation of RB Rail RAMS Design Guidelines and processes by internal and external stakeholders.

Promote safety awareness across the Rail Baltica project.

Produce RAMS deliverables for the global railway system in line with applicable directives and standards (EU Directive 402/2013, CENELEC 5012x).

Contribute to achieving approvals and certifications from the RAMS perspective (AsBo, ERA, NSAs).

Coordinate RAMS audits for RB Rail projects.

Participate in the design review process, including administrative and RAMS coordination with designers.

Coordinate RAMS-related activities with the Implementing Bodies.
To succeed, you should have
-
15+ years of experience as a RAMS engineer.
-
5+ years of experience in the railway industry.
-
Proven experience leading and coordinating a team.
-
Experience organizing RAMS training sessions.
-
Extensive knowledge of EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, ISO 31000.

Familiarity with EU Directives 787, 789 and Regulation 402.

Demonstrated expertise in RAM methods (RAM Analysis, LDA, DFMEA, PFMEA, FMEA/FMECA, RCM, FRACAS).

Experience in asset management is an advantage.

Experience with safety risk methods (PHA, FTA, HRA, etc.).

Relevant certifications (CRP, CRE) are considered an advantage.
