In the event, the representatives of the central coordinator of the Rail Baltica project, the joint venture of the three Baltic States “RB Rail AS”, as well as the representatives of the project’s national implementing bodies – “Rail Baltic Estonia”, “Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas” and “Rail Baltica statyba” – will inform about the national procurement policies, organisation, procedures and guidelines. On this day, a general procurement plan and detailed list of the 2017 procurement will also be presented. This year, there are more than 40 procurement that will be announced in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
The aim of the Industry Suppliers’ Day is to gather in one place the potential project’s suppliers not only from all three Baltic States, but also from other European countries and to introduce them with the project’s procurement procedures as well as other necessary practical information. The aim of the event is also to facilitate formation of partnerships between national and foreign companies in order to strengthen competition in the procurement of the Rail Baltica Global[1] Project.
Baiba Rubesa, CEO and Chairperson of the Management Board of “RB Rail AS”, will present the progress of the three Baltic countries in implementation of the Rail Baltica Global project, the general project’s timetable and financing, as well as the distribution of responsibilities between the project implementers. Also, she will present the main data and acknowledgments of the latest study on the project’s Cost-Benefit analysis, which will be discussed in-depth on the First Day of the Forum.
Indrek Orav, Member of the Board of “Rail Baltic Estonia”, Dins Merirands, Member of the Board of “Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas” and Dainius Budrys, Director of “Rail Baltica Statyba”, will be presenting the national peculiarities of procurement processes that have to be taken into consideration for companies willing to participate in Rail Baltica project procurement.
Kaido Zimmermann, Planning and Implementation Manager of “RB Rail AS”, and Kaspars Briškens, Business Development Manager of “RB Rail AS”, will inform about this year’s procurement related to studies and design. In addition, Agnis Driksna, Director of the Development and Cooperation of “Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas”, will inform about the procurement on the designing and construction of the Riga Central Railway Station and its territory. Participants of the Second Day of the Forum will also have a possibility to take part in the on-the-spot visit to the Riga Central Railway Station. Number of participants for the on-the-spot visit is limited.
