Rail Baltica Global Forum 2017 Takes Place in Riga
Today marks the beginning of the international two-day event “Rail Baltica Global Forum 2017 – Building a New Economic Corridor” organized by RB Rail AS, a joint venture by the three Baltic States, with the support of the project’s national implementing bodies – Rail Baltic Estonia, Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas and Rail Baltica statyba. Already more than 150 potential suppliers of the Rail Baltica project from 18 countries have applied for participation in the “Industry Suppliers’ Day” held on April 25, 2017, which is part of “RB Rail AS” organized international event dedicated to project’s implementation “Rail Baltica Global Forum 2017 – Building A New Economic Corridor”.

Representatives of the central coordinator of the Rail Baltica project, as well as representatives of the project’s national implementing bodies will inform the public about the national procurement policies, organisation, procedures and guidelines.

More than 15 speakers from across Europe will gather in Riga in the First Day of the Forum to contribute to the main topic of this year’s milestone event for the Rail Baltica project – Rail Baltica – Building a New Economic Corridor.
Procurement list of 2017 and the procurement procedures of the Rail Baltica project to be presented in the three Baltic countries
On 24th and 25th of April 2017, an international two-day event “Rail Baltica Global Forum 2017 – Building A New Economic Corridor” will take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel Latvija in Riga, Latvia, discussing the implementation process of the Rail Baltica project. The Second Day of the event “Industry Suppliers’ Day” held on April 25, 2017, will be specially dedicated to the topics related to the project’s procurement. All the potential project’s suppliers are invited to take part in the event in order to access detailed information about the forthcoming procurement of this year and their time schedule, as well as to meet their potential partners. This year, there are more than 40 procurement that will be announced in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

“RB Rail AS” submits a new application for EU funding for Rail Baltica
On February 6, 2017, “RB Rail AS” submitted a new application to the 2016 CEF Transport Call for Proposals. So far, the three Baltic states and the joint venture “RB Rail AS” have received two grants designed under the European Union funding instrument Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for the construction of the Rail Baltica railway, having signed Grant Agreements to a total value of 765 million euros. The CEF contribution will make up 85% of total eligible costs, giving financial support of up to a maximum of 633 million euros for the implementation of the project.
