Rail Baltica Academy has concluded the digital lectures for the third year. This initiative was created with the purpose of providing a global knowledge-sharing platform that is accessible to both industry specialists and those who want to learn more about the project implementation and its different aspects. The 9 digital lectures were viewed almost 8,000 times from the Baltics and beyond, including countries such as Ukraine, Poland, Finland, Norway, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, and Israel.
“Rail Baltica Academy has successfully reached a wide audience, making sure that important knowledge from Rail Baltica experts is available to industry professionals, railway fans, students, and future Rail Baltica users. The initiative has established itself as a platform for exploring numerous aspects of one of Europe’s biggest infrastructure projects. It allows Rail Baltica followers to access complex and nuanced technical knowledge in a simple way,” said Signe Nīgale, Head of the Communication and International Relations department at RB Rail AS.
Throughout these lectures, participants had the opportunity to engage with experts from Rail Baltica joint venture RB Rail AS, the national implementing bodies LTG Infra, Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas, and Rail Baltic Estonia, as well as construction company Bererix, and the Road Transport Administration in Latvia. The lectures covered various topics such as transport planning and scheduling, the potential of international rail stations for urban development, Rail Baltica project evaluation, the Common Safety Method on Risk Assessment in railways, the history of railways, digitalization in railways, environmental issues, and others.
In cooperation with educational institutions Riga Technical University, Kaunas University of Applied Engineering Sciences, Vilnius University, and TTK University of Applied Sciences in Estonia, Rail Baltica Academy’s spring session offered not only digital lectures but also live sessions with STEM students.
The digital lectures can be viewed on the Rail Baltica official webpage and YouTube channel.
