“RB Rail AS” Announces the Rail Baltica Project’s Major Event of This Year – the Rail Baltica Global Forum 2017

“RB Rail AS”, a three Baltic State joint venture, with the support of the project’s national implementing bodies – Rail Baltic Estonia, Eiropas Dzelzceļa līnijas and Rail Baltica statyba – announces the milestone international two-day event of the Rail Baltica project – the Rail Baltica Global Forum 2017 “Building a New Economic Corridor” on April 24 – 25, Riga, Latvia.

The Rail Baltica Global Forum 2017 is a key international Rail Baltica event of this year on Rail Baltica economic potential, procurement regulation and organization, as well as facilitation of suppliers’ networking. It will address strategic and tactical issues regarding the implementation of the “Project of the Century” from a national, regional and EU perspective and will bring together top executives and decision makers, rail, logistics and economics professionals, influential politicians and institutions as well as potential suppliers for the project from across Europe.

“Rail Baltica project provides opportunities that must be seen today to be able to use them tomorrow. It is a unique, large-scale and complex trans-national infrastructure project to form the new economic corridor, which will closely connect the North East of Europe with the rest of the Union. We can bring the best ideas, practice and solutions together to link nations, people, and places,” explains Baiba Rubesa, CEO of RB Rail AS.

The first day of the Forum will be devoted to discussing the potential of Rail Baltica’s infrastructure as a catalyst for a new economic corridor. The Rail Baltica Global Project’s Cost – Benefit Analysis for the Baltic countries will be presented for the first time. In addition, the event will explore business and passengers’ interest in not only the Rail Baltica project, but also other similar projects of this scale in Europe. High officials and opinion leaders, as well as industry representatives from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, the EU Commission and Parliament will participate. Participation at the first day of the Forum is by invitations only.

The second day of the Forum is planned as an Industry Suppliers’ Day with the aim to gather suppliers from three Baltic states and beyond to both present the Project’s procurement procedures as well as offer a networking opportunity for companies to potentially forge alliances for the project. The two-day event will take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel Latvija, Elizabetes street 55. Participation is free of charge. The working language of the events is English.
