In today’s meeting, Supervisory Board took important decisions for fostering the project’s implementation and approved contracting the British company ATKINS Plc to carry out the projects infrastructure management study. Supervisory Board also approved that the Management Board of RB Rail can start procurements of detailed technical designs for the following sessions in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The updated RB Rail annual budget for 2018 was approved.
Among other important points in the agenda, shareholders resolution on RB Rail’s CEO was discussed.
“Supervisory Board has already previously noted several performance deficiencies of the CEO, but we will find solutions to those and move strongly forward with the Rail Baltica project,” marked Riia Sillave, the chairperson of the Supervisory Board.
During the last years, the Inter-Governmental Agreement on development of Rail Baltica Railway Connection was signed by the Baltic Prime Ministers and ratified by the three Parliaments, base studies have been carried out.
In the year 2018, Rail Baltica project has already entered into design phase. Technical design works and further project relevant studies will take place in all three Baltic states. More than 70 procurements are planned for 2018.
